Elton John and Bernie Taupin famously collaborated from two separate rooms. We collaborate from two separate mountain ranges. And while technology connects us virtually it’s our mountain lifestyles that connect us creatively. It also keeps our thinking fresh and in touch with our core audience. And it seems to work as we’ve been doing it this way for thirteen years now, produced some great work and have many happy long-term clients. Must be the mountain air.

With a double major in graphic design and photography Matt began his design career working for several small advertising and design firms before succumbing to the pull of gravity sending Matt West where he developed his marketing skills working for well known brands like SR Suntour, Schwinn Cycling and Fitness and Topeak. Whether staring down a twisting singletrack, powder filled slope or dual 24″ monitors Matt throws himself completely at whatever is in front of him. “Focus drives everything, when you are in the zone, distractions fade away, it’s just you in the flow.”

Born in California, Norm followed his gravity addiction to the mountains of every western state. Settling in Seattle for a twelve year stint at K2 Skis where he rose to become Senior Product Manager, Norm discovered his talent for hyperbole and blather which he honed at the School of Visual Concepts. Somewhere on a snow covered slope, (or maybe a mountain bike trail, nobody really remembers) Norm found a kindred spirit in Matt Karaus and together they formed Gravity Communications and haven’t looked back since.
